Auto Insurance Massage
Have you been injured in a motor vehicle accident (MVA)? Your car insurance company may provide you with financial assistance to receive Massage Therapy.
At Beehive Bodywork, we can help you through the steps to get the most out of your insurance policy.
To create the treatment plan that’s best for you, we then combine techniques from Deep Tissue Massage, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Myofascial Release, and more.

Massage therapy can be effective in treating many types of MVA injury, such as:
- Whiplash
- PTSD
- Back Pain
- Migraine / Headaches
- Concussion Symptoms
- Bruising / Swelling
- Pre / Post Surgery Treatment
What steps should you take?
- Inform your personal car insurance provider as soon as possible about your injury. They will come up with a settlement that includes certain types of care, and a certain dollar amount you can use for your injury care (deductible).
- Ask your car insurance company whether massage is covered for you, and if so, how many massages are approved. Ask if they have to be completed within a certain time period: start date to end date.
- Get a prescription for massage from your doctor. Make sure they include the quantity, frequency, and duration of prescribed massages. This doesn’t have to be an in-person appointment, you can get it over tele-health. Make sure to keep the actual slip of paper and/or digital file. (Keep in mind that a doctor’s prescription does NOT guarantee that your car insurance will cover it.)
- Book an appointment with Beehive Bodywork! Make sure you choose the option called “Auto Insurance Massage.”
- You will not be charged to schedule an appointment. Tips are optional, at the time of service. If your insurance claim is denied, or if a co-pay is required, you’ll be billed by EMBS (our medical billing service).
- Although 90 minute sessions are often preferred by patients, especially those who need care for multiple issues, car insurance companies tend to only approve 60 minutes per day. If you’d like to purchase a 30-min add-on to your 60-min insurance massage, contact us directly to schedule it.
- Before your appointment, compile all the necessary information that will be needed to file your claim. This includes: Date of injury, your insurance carrier, insurance claim number, adjustor’s name and phone number, as well as a copy of your doctor’s prescription. This information is required for your intake form.
- Fill out your intake form. You can print it out to fill at home, or else we’ll have one available when you arrive to your appointment. A printable copy can be found below.

Pro – Health Tip:
When injuries happen, it’s best for the body to get care ASAP, so that the symptoms won’t worsen or get “stuck.” No one wants to live in pain!
If you have the budget, it may be beneficial to your long term health goals to book some self-pay appointments before your insurance kicks in.
